Total Bets Increased Nearly 52% from August to September, Colorado Division of Gaming Monthly Figures Show

Taxes Collected on Sports Betting Also Increased by Nearly 71% from Month-to-Month

 

Lakewood - October 29, 2024 - The Colorado Division of Gaming, part of the Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR), released the monthly sports betting figures for September 2024. 

 

The figures show that Total Handle increased 51.17% to $562,923,089.75 from August to September. 

 

Additionally, fiscal year sports betting taxes collected showed an increase of 31.05% through September 2024 compared to the same period last year. 

 

 Here are the figures:

 

Total Handle: September 2024

$562,923,089.75 (51.17% increase from August 2024)

Represents a 9.78% increase from the total handle for September 2023 ($512,792,794.07) 

Total Handle: August 2024

$372,378,663.79

 

Total Taxes: September 2024

$4,049,802.31 (70.49% increase from August 2024)

Represents a 29.55% increase from September 2023 ($3,126,136.07)

Total Taxes: August 2024

$2,375,442.81

 

Fiscal Year To Date Wagers, including September 2024

$1,255,698,594.42

Represents a 14.16%  increase from the FYTD Wagers from September  2023 ($1,099,969,075.12)

Fiscal Year To Date Taxes, including September 2024

$8,794,975.20

Represents a 31.05% increase from the FYTD Taxes from September 2023 ($6,710,933.95)
