Our mission is to promote and foster public confidence in the pari-mutuel industry protecting the welfare of both equine and human participants through fair, consistent, proactive enforcement of appropriate policies, statutes, and Colorado Racing Commission rules.

The Division of Racing Events issue licenses in five categories for individuals and businesses that meet licensing requirements.
Please note that these appointments are limited during the off season and are primarily used during the live racing season at Bally's Arapahoe Park.

What's New
ATTENTION:
The Division of Racing will be offering out-of-competition hair testing for Quarter Horses on February 24th, 2026, at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds from 8am to 12pm.

For hair testing prior to entry at Oklahoma tracks, the kits must be ordered in advance through OQHRA and sent directly to Dr. Marcy-Quay. More information here: https://www.oqhra.com/2026-
The fee for the service of obtaining the hair sample is $30 per horse, payable to DOR by check prior to service. Cost of lab testing will be the responsibility of the owner/trainer. No refunds will be given for no-show appointments.
