Taxes Collected on Sports Betting Exceed $4 Million for the First Time Ever

Colorado Division of Gaming Announces January 2024 Sports Betting Figures
 

Lakewood - March 5, 2024 - The Colorado Division of Gaming, part of the Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR), released the monthly sports betting figures for January 2024. January 2024 is the first month since the launch of sports betting in May 2020, that taxes collected have exceeded $4 million. Here are the figures:

Total Handle: January 2024

$596,685,967.76 (16.71% decrease from December 2023)

Represents a 9.05% increase from the total handle for January 2023 ($547,189,024.98)

Total Handle: December 2023

$716,430,270.22 

 

Total Taxes: January 2024

$4,128,369.29 (12.11% increase from December 2023)

Represents a 59.61% increase from January 2023 ($2,586,456.93)

Total Taxes: December 2023

$3,682,334.79

 

Fiscal Year Wagers To Date, including January 2024

$3,576,433,380.73

Represents a 13.78% increase from the FYTD Wagers from January 2023 ($3,143,255,956.81)

Fiscal Year Taxes To Date, including January 2024

$19,352,000.65

Represents a 21.05% increase from the FYTD Taxes from January 2023 ($15,986,202.87)
