The Big Game serves as a reminder to Bet Smart, game responsibly

DENVER February 6, 2026 – With the nation’s largest sports betting event just days away, the Colorado Department of Revenue’s Division of Gaming reminds sports fans that if they are going to bet, Bet Smart.

"The Big Game is a time for excitement and friendly competition, and we want to ensure it remains a fun and safe experience for everyone," said Director of the Division of Gaming, Christopher Schroder. "Responsible gaming means setting limits, knowing the risks, and ensuring that betting remains a form of entertainment, not a source of stress. We encourage everyone to enjoy the game responsibly and utilize the robust resources Colorado offers if they or someone they know needs help."

The Big Game is set for 4:30 p.m. (MST) Sunday, Feb. 8.

Responsible Gaming: Bet Smart

The Division of Gaming encourages Coloradans to follow the "Bet Smart" principles:

  • Set a budget and stick to it, betting only what you can afford to lose.
  • Keep it social and treat betting as entertainment, not a way to make money.
  • Know the signs of problem gambling and seek help if needed.

Sports Betting Funds Water Projects Across Colorado

Sports betting revenue directly supports Colorado’s Water Plan Grant program, which funds critical water projects and advances the goals of the Colorado Water Plan.
