Program has awarded more than $7M to responsible gaming efforts since 2023
LAKEWOOD - October 31, 2025 – The clock is ticking for groups seeking a 2026 Responsible Gaming Grant.
The Colorado Division of Gaming will accept applications for 2026 Responsible Gaming Grants from Nov. 1 to Dec. 1, 2025.
Responsible Gaming Grants support initiatives that promote responsible gaming, community development, and other gaming-related projects. Grant applications can be found on the State’s responsible gaming website, BetSmart.Colorado.gov.
"We eagerly anticipate applications and are excited to support innovative initiatives that champion responsible gaming throughout Colorado," Division of Gaming Director Christopher Schroder said. "This grant program underscores Colorado's ongoing commitment to responsible gaming, while simultaneously upholding the integrity of Colorado Gaming."
Since 2023, the Division of Gaming and the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission (CLGCC) have awarded over $7 million, with $2,948,660 being awarded in 2025. To learn more about prior grants, visit the Division of Gaming’s Responsible Gaming Grants web page.

Application and eligibility requirements
- Not-for-profit organizations, nonprofit organizations, and State agencies/programs that help people with gambling problems are welcome to apply. This includes groups that work on addiction treatment, run hotlines, offer counseling, or teach the public about safe gaming.
- Applicants are strongly encouraged to ensure they have the resources and the staffing to complete all required reporting and attend all required meetings.
- Requests for capital projects are not eligible under this grant process.
- Automatic Disqualifier:
- Any organization found to have made purposeful misrepresentations, omissions and/or errors intended to mislead will not be considered and will be disqualified from receiving funding.
- Important Rule for Past Grant Winners:
- If you received a grant from us before, you must have completed all the required reports.
- If you did not, you cannot apply for a grant this year.
- You must submit the missing paperwork before you can apply again in the future.
