Colorado April Sports Betting Data Shows Over $30.1 Million Fiscal Year-To-Date Taxes Collected
Lakewood - May 27, 2025 - Colorado Division of Gaming sports betting figures for April show a significant increase in tax revenue, which the state will use in water conservation efforts.
April's figures reveal a 57.68% surge in tax collection compared to the previous month of March 2025, and a substantial 78.06% increase from April 2024. The fiscal year to date (FYTD) taxes collected, including in April, reached over $30.1 million, marking an 18.63% increase from the same period in 2024.
"April's sports betting tax revenue demonstrates a remarkable growth,” said Director Christopher Schroder, “which translates to more funds for crucial water conservation projects in Colorado. This increased tax revenue underscores the positive impact of sports betting on our state’s water resources. We encourage everyone to enjoy gaming responsibly and want to ensure awareness of available resources for those who need support, such as BetSmart.Colorado.gov or 1-800-GAMBLER."
Annual sports betting tax revenue is used for water conservation and protection projects, which provides a framework for helping Colorado meet its water challenges.
