Colorado Division of Gaming Asks Coloradans to Bet Smart When Making Super Bowl LIX Wagers

Gaming Division to Release Data After the Game

Lakewood - February 6, 2025 - Many people are getting ready to place bets on Super Bowl LIX on Sunday and the Colorado Division of Gaming (Gaming) reminds Coloradans to bet smart.

“Here in Colorado we are free to make wagers on many aspects of Super Bowl LIX,” said Christopher Schroder, director of Gaming. “However, you can’t bet on every aspect of the Super Bowl and we want to make sure that Coloradans bet smart and know what an illegitimate bet looks like.

Legitimate wagers include how many points will be scored and by whom, or how many times an athlete performs a particular feat. Illegitimate wagers include anything that is not skill-based, such as:

  • Whether any scoring drive will be shorter than the length of the National Anthem,
  • Whether any word will be omitted/forgotten from the National Anthem,
  • Whether the coin toss will be heads or tails,
  • What the first song performed at the halftime show will be,
  • Whether the halftime performer will wear a hat or not during the halftime show,
  • Will there be a penalty for taunting,
  • Which color of Gatorade will be the first to be dumped on the winning coach, and more.

Coloradans who find similar wagers should pass because it is unlikely that those wagers are sanctioned in the Centennial State.
