MED Resuming Appointment-Based In-Person Services

The Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) is excited to announce that beginning Tuesday, June 21, 2022, we will resume appointment-based in-person services in our Lakewood, Longmont, and Grand Junction Offices. To support our efforts to deliver exceptional customer service and timely processing of applications, in-person services will be available by appointment only. We are not accepting walk-in requests at this time. The following information further details the scope of MED licensing services available to our customers.

In-Person Services - Appointment Only
Beginning June 21, 2022, our customers can make appointments (using the appointment scheduling link provided below) for the following in-person services at each MED office:

  • Lakewood: Customers may request appointments for the submission of business and occupational license applications. Please also note that the MED’s Lakewood office has moved. We are in the same complex, but on the other side of the same building. Here is our new address: 1697 Cole Blvd, Suite 200 (Second Floor), Lakewood, CO 80401. Office Hours M-F, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
  • Longmont: Customers may request appointments for the submission of occupational license applications only.  Office Hours M-F, 8:00AM - 12:00 PM, 1:00 -5:00 PM (Office closed 12:00 - 1:00 PM)
  • Grand Junction: Customers may request appointments for the submission of occupational license applications only. Office Hours M-F, 8:00AM - 12:00 PM, 1:00 -5:00 PM (Office closed 12:00 - 1:00 PM)
  • Colorado SpringsCustomers may request appointments for the submission of occupational license applications only. Office Hours M-F, 8:00AM - 12:00 PM, 1:00 -5:00 PM (Office closed 12:00 - 1:00 PM)

Schedule an appointment. This tool will allow you to choose your appointment type and the closest office to you. If you schedule an appointment, you may choose to have your fingerprints taken during your appointment. The cost for having fingerprints taken at the MED will be an additional $39.50. Payments can be made by check, money order and credit/debit cards. No cash will be accepted. For licensing fees, here is the most recent fee schedule.

If you submitted an application while the MED offices were closed during the COVID-19 pandemic and have “See ID” on your badge, you are now able to schedule an appointment at the Lakewood Office to have your photo taken and obtain a replacement badge free of charge. The regional offices will be offering this service at a later date.

Other Methods to Submit Applications to the MED
The MED has prioritized expanding options for online submission of applications using your computer, phone, or another device with internet access. It's fast and easy to submit your application online. Our training video will help guide you through the process.  

The MED will continue to accept application submissions online, by USPS mail and drop off (drop off services are available at the Lakewood office only). The Lakewood office’s Drop Box is now located in the lobby and is only available from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Please place your complete applications in an envelope to keep the application intact.

Please do not submit multiple of the same application[s] as this may complicate the application process and significantly delay your application processing time. For example, please do not submit an application online and make an in-person appointment.

Third-Party Fingerprint Services
Customers may continue to utilize the third party fingerprinting services or may have their fingerprints taken during their in-person appointment. Customers can visit our website to find information on the available third-party fingerprint service providers.

If you are submitting your application online, via USPS or dropping off your application, please have your fingerprints done prior to submitting applications

Issuance of Licensing Badge
When the MED is prepared to issue your owner or employee license (badge), it will be mailed to the address listed on your application - you cannot pick up your badge.
