As announced in the Marijuana Enforcement Division’s 2023 rulemaking session, the Division is continuing efforts to identify and implement operable efficiency measures. As part of this work, the Division will solicit stakeholder suggestions and host a series of meetings, each of which will focus on distinct subject areas. The Division is seeking to work with stakeholders who have experience with relevant processes and rules to inform the Division’s ongoing efforts to streamline processes, enhance services to our customers, and inform relevant rule updates.
Participants attending these meetings should be prepared to engage in review of materials ahead of and during meetings, submit or present efficiency proposals, and collaborate with Division staff and stakeholders. All contributions, whether via the meetings or the suggestion form below, will help inform the Division’s potential prioritization and implementation of efficiency proposals. Other subjects for efficiency-related initiatives will be addressed in future meetings.

Feb. 26, 2024: MED hosted the first in a series of MED meetings with stakeholders at the Colorado Department of Revenue in Lakewood.
Interested parties joined live and via Zoom to discuss efficiencies related to Rule 2-235 - Suitability, as well as business license renewals.

Renewal application rules and statutes: Provides definitions of key terms, explains regulatory and financial disclosure requirements, and lists persons who are prohibited as licensees.
Rules related to suitability and renewal application: Spells out the duties of all applicants and licensees, requirements of license applicants, license renewal requirements, necessary financial disclosures and the statutory basis for the rules.
MED License Expiration Alignment Request form: As part of MED's efficiency efforts, the agency is offering licensees the opportunity to align the renewal submissions of their licenses, which will align their licenses to one expiration date.
