Maintenance on CO DRIVES on November 16
The Auto Industry Division (AID) and Division of Motor Vehicles want to ensure that Colorado auto dealers are aware of a potential issue affecting the Colorado DRIVES system and the ability to access the temporary registration component. The Governor's Office of Information Technology (OIT) has rescheduled the prior announced regular system maintenance on the CO DRIVES system for Saturday, November 16, 2019. This system maintenance may or may not affect the ability to issue temporary permits.
In the event the temporary permit component of the CO DRIVES systems is impacted by the maintenance work on November 16, Colorado auto dealers are reminded of the ability to issue analog temporary registration permits in the case of a system outage. Guidance from the DMV to allow dealerships to issue a temporary registration permit substitutes is available through 1 CCR 204-10 Rule 24 Dealer Issued Temporary Registration Permits.
