Liquor - SB18-243

SB18-243

On June 4,2018, Gov. Hickenlooper signed Senate Bill 18-243 (SB18-243) into law, which changed and added laws for several liquor license types in Colorado. The Liquor Enforcement Division (LED) recognizes some of the changes are complicated so communication concerning these changes is paramount for a successful implementation of the new laws, especially those laws that take effect on January 1, 2019.

The LED created this webpage to be the main focal point where information will be shared with liquor stakeholders regarding SB18-243. We will add information to this webpage as it becomes available.

On June 5, 2018, the LED issued Bulletin 18-07 which provided information on the laws that took effect on June 4, 2018 from SB18-243. The LED will also be conducting stakeholder meetings for rule making to include those rules needed to implement SB18-243. View the 2018 Rule Working Group Meetings.

Starting in July, the LED will begin conducting training for the liquor industry, local liquor clerks, licensees and the public. We will have training and will publish the dates/times and locations on our website and will send out email notifications.

In order to ensure your questions are answered, the LED is asking stakeholders to submit questions about SB18-243. The LED will incorporate the answers into the training as well as publish a FAQ list on this website.

Thank you for your interest in helping transition to the changes in SB18-243.
