Liquor Emergency Rules December 2018

December 28, 2018

Dear Liquor Stakeholders,

On December 27, 2018, the State Licensing Authority (via the Liquor Enforcement Division (LED)) adopted two sets of emergency rules to be effective January 1, 2019.

Emergency Rules - Law Changes and Updates

The first set of emergency rules, effective January 1, 2019, are from the rules working group that met in 2018. Due to a technical error, the LED has to conduct permanent rule-making for these rules to be effective March 30, 2019. Information for the permanent rule-making can be found on our website.

Some of those rules need to be effective January 1, 2019, due to changes in the law. Therefore the first set of rules are adopted and effective January 1, 2019. These rules include unfair trade practices, deliveries, the age of employees and more.

Emergency Rules - Fee Changes

The LED is required to reduce the amount of uncommitted reserve funds in the Liquor Cash fund to remain compliant with state law. The second set of emergency rules provides information about the fee reduction to be effective January 1, 2019.

New forms with the updated fee amounts and an updated fee schedule will be available on our website after January 1, 2019.
