March 21st, 2025
Hello,
After discussions with the substance use disorder recovery community members, as well as members representing the grocery and convenience stores, the Division has agreed to make changes to Regulation 47-951 to allow for more than two and up to five temporary alcohol beverage displays depending on the square footage of the retail area of the store.
Additionally, the rules were originally filed with an error. They contained a section that was drafted as an idea but never presented to or agreed upon by the working group. This was filed in error and has been struck.
As a reminder, the hearing on these rules is at 1:30 p.m. on April 1st, 2025, at 1707 Cole Boulevard, Suite 300, Lakewood, CO 80104, in the Red Rocks Conference Room. The hearing will also be held over Zoom. There will be a public comment period during the hearing, during which members of the public will have two minutes to speak. The Division is also accepting written comments until 5:00 p.m. on April 7th, 2025.
