FMB licenses affected by SB19-011

February 8, 2019

Dear Stakeholders,

On January 31, 2019, Governor Polis signed SB19-011 that fixed an issue for manufacturers, wholesalers and importers of malt liquor and fermented malt beverage and went into effect on January 31, 2019.

The Liquor Enforcement Division will be sending letters to each business who had a fermented malt beverage license affected by SB19-011 in order to get information of the disposition of those licenses that converted to a "malt liquor" license. In some cases, those licenses will need to be surrendered since a separate malt liquor license already existed for their premises.

At this time, businesses who had a fermented malt beverage license affected by SB19-011 do not need to do anything and may continue to operate in their normal course of business.

Again, this is a documentation issue that the LED needs to complete and not an enforcement issue.
