2024 Rulemaking Information

MED Annual Rulemaking

The Colorado Department of Revenue’s Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) has completed its public hearings for the 2024 annual rulemaking process to implement Senate Bill 24-076, review and update existing rules, and propose new rules as necessary. Additional information 

Background: SB 24-076 became effective on Aug. 7, 2024, following the expiration of the petition clause’s 90-day period. Therefore, the Division adopted emergency rules for initial SB 24-076 implementation and will continue to develop new and revised rules through the permanent rulemaking process. The Division has prepared initial draft rules for review and input at the stakeholder meetings listed below. All agendas, draft rules, and any other materials will be posted on the Division's website at least five (5) days prior to the meeting. Additionally, links for each meeting will be posted in advance on the Division's Rulemaking webpage and recordings of the meetings will be posted within 24 hours of the meeting. Meeting recordings are linked in the table below.
