Investigations - Auto Industry Division

  • The Investigation Section investigates complex and criminal complaints filed against licensees.

  • The section also investigates sales of motor vehicle/powersports vehicles offered by those who are not licensed.

  • Investigators can pursue prosecution through both administrative sanctions (Dealer Board), through the issuance of a summons, or through direct filing with the local district attorney.

Examples of Investigations Include but are NOT Limited To:
  • Failure by a licensed dealer to deliver title

  • Odometer fraud

  • Salvage fraud

  • Title fraud

  • Sale of a stolen vehicle

  • Failure to disclose material particulars/damage

  • Unlicensed Sales
