On March 16, 2020, Governor Polis ordered the closure of all Colorado Department of Revenue public-facing offices. The closure is in effect starting March 18, 2020. The Auto Industry Division offices will be closed to the public until further notice.

Emergency Rules to Operate During COVID-19: On March 16, 2021 at 9:00 AM: The Motor Vehicle Dealer Board held an Emergency Rulemaking Meeting in response to the COVID-19 pandemic promulgating two emergency rules/regulations in accordance with section 24-4-103(6)(a), C.R.S., permitting motor vehicle dealers, used motor vehicle dealers, powersports vehicle dealers and used powersports vehicle dealers to continue retail sales transactions to the citizens of Colorado during the pendency of the COVID-19 emergency.
